Welcome to the Sussex Engine and Associated Machinery Society website.  Our club was founded in 1991 by a group of stationary engine enthusiasts in the county of West Sussex, England.

Our main interest is the restoration of old Stationary Engines and associated machinery as used in agriculture and industry in year’s gone by.

Our club has over 200 members, young and old, if you have an engine, or just want to know a bit more about them, we would like to hear from you.

You will find many things of interest including project write-ups, a photo gallery, items for sale, plus much more.  And if you have something that you would like to write about, we can publish it in our bi-monthly newsletter. Send your stories to and we will get back to you.

We run and support events during the summer months for exhibiting engines and hold regular meetings through October to April in Sussex.

We often have a speaker or a film/slide show, sometimes a quiz and always a natter – it’s a friendly gathering, why not come along and join us for an evening! Check out our events section for full information.
